THIS PROGRAM SERVES NEEDY ELDERS in ASSISTED LIVINGS, GROUP HOMES or at HOME.
TO SUBMIT NAMES FOR ELDERS IN A NURSING HOME go to.....Be a Santa for a Senior

Are you a Senior Service Professional such as a Case Manager, Senior Community/Activity Director, professional Guardian, or Social Worker?

If yes, do you know of a needy elder with no family able to provide a gift or company to them this holiday season?

Would you be willing to pick up gifts from one of several convenient locations throughout Pinellas County to be delivered to the needy elder?

If so, you are invited to submit the names of needy Elders to the “Elves for Elders”® program operated by the Senior Resource Committee of Better Living for Seniors Pinellas (BLS), so that they may be remembered in a very special way during the holidays.

Names can be submitted by first creating an account, then creating a gift tag on-line from September 1st through October 15th.   The tags are placed on trees at various locations in Pinellas County, FL. (Click here for a list of tree locations). Shoppers may pick up a tag and shop for items from November 1st through December 1st.

The shopper can return the unwrapped purchased gifts, along with the identifying tag, to the tree location, or to a number of other convenient drop off sites. That is when the BLS (Better Living for Seniors) ELVES go to work and all of the bags are then prepared. Various toiletries and treats are added to each bag along with the gifts the shopper has purchased. The bag is then picked up by the senior service professional submitting the Elder’s name between December 14th and December 15th.  This will give the senior service professional plenty of time to deliver the gift bag to the needy elder in time for the holidays.

Please see the tabs above for tree locations for shoppers, gift drop off locations for shoppers, and gift bag pick-up locations for senior professionals who will deliver the bag to the needy elder.
